Snagridge Designer Jewelry
Snagridge Designer Jewelry takes it's name from a beautiful mountain retreat north of Washougal. It lies within the 1902 Yacolt Burn, the largest forest fire in the state of Washington. Many old growth trees that burned are still standing, although they are now "snags," diminished in stature but still impressive. Here, and at our home in Geyserville, California and "on the road" in our 5th wheel (aka OUR APT,) is where I design and create high quality jewelry.
There is nothing mystical about the creation of my jewelry. I won't begin to spin tales of how the forest or mountains, vineyards and valleys influence my work, as sometimes, I'll work in an RV park or sketch designs while traveling around the world. The big influence is the materials with which I work: lustrous pearls from Vietnam and China, jade from Hong Kong, Lapis Lazuli from Afghanistan, silver and vermeil. I'm in the proverbial candybox every day. And everytime we travel, I collect beads, silver, pendants...
I am a former teacher, having taught band, choir, art and a multitude of children in other subjects. I consider myself a traveler, musician, potter, pen and ink illustrator as well as designer and jeweler.
Traveling and gathering materials from around the world are things I enjoy with my husband, Jon. He also assists in driving, shipping and handling, set up at shows and any construction needed. I couldn't be in business without Jon. Blue the Dog and Cate the Cat round out the team at Snagridge.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy the designing and creation of jewelry for you.
